Utsurimono Koi Variety
"THE JAPANESE WORD UTSURI MEANS REFLECTIONS"
The Utsurimono is traditionally a black fish with white, red or yellow markings.
The reflections (Utsuri) refers to the black pattern that gets reflected by the white (Shiro), red (Hi) or yellow (Ki) markings.
Utsurimono are classified as per the below:
(Shiro Utsuri) | (Hi Utsuri) | (Ki Utsuri) |
---|---|---|
The characteristic black skin with white (Shiro) markings. | The characteristic black skin with red (Hi) markings. | The characteristic black skin with yellow (Ki) markings. |
The black (Sumi) of the Utsuri should be blue black in colour as this is considered to be higher in quality than the grey black. The red (Hi), yellow (Ki) and white (Shiro) Utsuri should all have the black (Sumi) and the colour markings in equal proportions in order to be truly stunning.
