The Origins of Steve's Koi
Steve’s Koi was founded in 1998 by Stephen Galgoczy.
His passion for Koi fish started at 8 years old when his father bought him his first two Koi fish; a Yamabuki Ogon and a Sanke. Those two particular fish sparked a real love for Aquaculture.
Stephen spent the majority of his childhood tending to his ever expanding Koi collection. Naturally; as the ponds got bigger, so did the logistics around their construction, filtration and maintenance. It wasn't long before he was able to put the valuable insight gained, alongside a new business plan.
Steve's Koi was born out of a lifetime of Koi keeping experience and has grown from strength to strength, thanks to the dedication and commitment of the Galgoczy family.
The Evolution To Optimum Koi
Optimum Koi has evolved out of the Galgoczy family's need to provide further value to hobbyists and breeders alike. The shift aims to introduce a a much more customer-centric drive within an already thriving service-centered business.
We have put together premium Koi products from reputable distributors, available for purchase online.
In addition to this we have made exciting new partnerships and are planning to change the face of the Koi feed market in South Africa.
We have put together a new formulation of Koi feed, taking into account the essential nutrients required for a happy, healthy and growing Koi.
